A very enjoyable evening, we god good feedback . Thanks for such a lovely evening with great and varied songs. What a wonderful sound you three make together. Mike and Vicki. Willows Folk Club, Wrea Green. January 2014

We thought Caffrey/McGurk/Madge were superb at Maghull - the songs, the vocals, the accompaniment and introductions were first class. It's been a long time since we enjoyed a concert so much. Just like the Folk Club nights we used to enjoy. Love the cd's as well - I'll probably be buying more from you!! Best regards - Tony Gibbons and Kate Bradbury, Maghull Folk Club

We very much enjoyed your spot. We hope it isn't too long before we have you back at the club. Paul Robinson, Maghull Folk Club. October 2023

Dear Ed, Nick and Robin, thank you for your delightful Performances at both the Arnside Sea Shanty Festival and the Lancaster Folk Club. Your Folk and Sea Shanty Harmony is superb, and am looking forward to your October appearance at the Lancaster Folk Festival. Thank You for your inspiring and generous warm Performance. Good Wishes. Chris, member of the audience

The trio got off to a splendid start by singing a great traditional hunting the hare chorus song to gladden our hearts ( especially as they happened to mentioned that no hares were harmed)and warm up our voices, then segued effortlessly into an instrumental piece .Their repertoire of course included songs about Lancashire which were equally as enjoyable . We were transported from Whitby to Greenland in songs and ballads and soothed by a maritime lullaby.

Their mixture of lively and and contemplative pieces, introduced by a knowledgeable and entertaining explanation of their origins made the evening a memorable one. A fine blend of voices and playing guitar and concertina make the trio one to look out for in the future.

They were at The Bridge Folk Club in Newcastle on Monday 15 May and they were terrific. If you missed them there, go to Tynefolk on Wednesday. In fact, even if you saw them at The Bridge, go to Tynefolk on Wednesday. Mike Donnington - The Bridge Folk Club in Newcastle 15 May 2023

I agree with Mike. They played wonderfully at The Bridge. Go and see them! Eric Sharp

“Thank you for a wonderful evening of folk songs. It really was a pleasure having you as our guest singers for the evening. I feel sure there will be a repeat performance next year at some point.” Rhona Friend, New Everyman Folk Club 20 April 2023

Thanks for your contribution to a great evenings entertainment at the Ac Cab on Saturday Night. You guys were the perfect cap to a true cabaret rich in variety and good quality. Good luck, Phil n Sorrel (Acoustic Cabaret, Leyland) 25 February 2023

Nick, Robin and Ed (CMM) delivered a variety of material to the high standard that we have come to expect of them : exquisite and unusual harmonies on songs such as "Icy Acres" and the "Corpus Christie Carol", accomplished yet inventive musical interludes and accompaniments from Ed on guitars and Robin on concertinas as in "Coire Lagan" (written by Robin) and "The Hapton Valley Mining Disaster" (written by Nick), and stunning vocals from all three throughout the two sets. The performance featured some of their greatest hits such as "Over the Lancashire Hills" and "Dead Reckoning" both with choruses that were greatly enjoyed by the audience There were some new numbers such as "Schooldays Over" which included vocal solos, three part harmony and an instrumental break. Simon and Garfunkel are a hard act to follow but CMM's new rendition of "Scarborough Fair" excels because it tells the whole story and shows off harmony at its best. CMM  finished off the night with Steve Harrison's "Time for the Leaving" : a great song with a very singable chorus - they should perform it more often! To say this was a short-notice concert with little preparation, (standing in for a Covid-smitten Granny's Attic) the professionality of their act was amazing and the entertainment value second to none. Well another really special night at Bedworth Folk Club, guests Nick Caffrey, Ed McGurk, and Robin Madge simply ooze class, the very best in traditional, and traditional-style folk music, and that was helped along by some exceptional chorus singing by the audience who were in great voice, right from the very first song of the evening. The scene was set for the long awaited return of Caffrey, McGurk and Madge - wow! - folk music at its very best, a great mix of material, excellently sung and with fine accompaniment. One of the audience who had not seen them before said "If I never go to another folk club in my life - I will die happy after being at Bed'uth tonight !!!!" - that is an amazing impact! Malc Gurnham, Bedworth Folk Club - 10 March 2022

“Thanks to you all for a magnificent night on Sunday. I took a chance on restarting the club but there could be no finer chance taken than on the three of you.” Clive Pownceby, Club Organiser, The Bothy FC, Southport 17 October 2021

On their second visit to Tynefolk, Caffrey, McGurk, Madge delivered an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary songs performed in their own special style. Be it Lancashire hunting songs or tales of the sea CMM will not disappoint. A great night, thanks. Lindsey Thornton. Tynefolk Folk Club 11 July 2019

Well, a night I was really looking forward to, and it fully lived up to expectations, two stunning sets from Nick Caffrey, Ed McGurk, and Robin Madge, they were simply magnificent. Great harmony singing and tasteful musical arrangements from these three fine gents had the audience enthralled, so many comments at the end of the night saying "That was a proper folk night!" and in fact I can't find better words than that! Malc Gurnham, Bedworth Folk Club - 11 April 2019

Thanks for another excellent night. I am sure we'll have you back at the Bridge in the not-too-distant future & am looking forward to seeing/hearing you all again at Blaydon in the summer. A great night. Peter Armstrong, The Bridge Folk Club, Newcastle - March 2019

Caffrey McGurk and Madge. Organisers, if you have not heard this trio, check them out, they completely blow me away each time I hear them. Lorna Davis North Staffs Online Folk Diary. October 2018

Caffrey McGurk Madge really shone on Wednesday night. They gave us two sets of songs, most of which were different in style and content to the usual offerings, well researched by Nick, and ranging from contemporary to traditional, a few well known but mostly songs I have not heard before - - -  All well accompanied by Ed's excellent guitar work and Robin's complex and well thought out Anglo Concertina playing.
WELL DONE and Thank You guys, that was a memorable evening and the audience loved it, we had loads of good comments afterwards. The Moorcock Acoustic Music Night October 2018
